2019-3-4  In 2002, Read My Lips was re-released with two new songs (and a live version of 'Groovejet') and Ellis-Bextor won the Recording Artist Award at that year's Showbusiness Awards. Her third single, ' Get Over You / Move This Mountain ', was released in June 2002 and reached number three. On a planet that's enduring the skankiness of Christina Aguillera and the questionability of Britney Spears, Sophie Ellis Bextor comes as a welcome burst of fresh, sophisticated air. Sophie sings, peforms and behaves in a way where we're forced to believe that a thing such as femininity still dwells amongst our female entertainers.

Until now, there has been no clear evidence from deep seismic reflection profiles of crustal faults that displace the Moho. New data from central Australia show such a structure in a region characterized by large thrust structures, large gravity anomalies and abrupt changes in teleseismic travel times. Here the principal thrust, the Redbank Deformed Zone, cuts through the crust, and the Moho is significantly displaced across it. The geological and geophysical evidence leads to a model of thick-skinned crustal deformation which occurred in an intra-cratonic environment in late Devonian time. • 1 Coward, M.

Sophie is an intellectual pop musician with a strong musical identity. She launched with a tasteful disco sound and have since consistently showcased interesting songwriting and compositions in the realm of contemporary pop and dance music. After a warmly-welcomed dancefloor-ready debut, she blossomed into an underappreciated left-field pop artist by releasing Shoot From The Hip in 2003 and has remained active in the music scene. Her loyal fanbase, strong likeability, excellent knack for melody, and sophisticated voice has kept her relevant internationally. Sophie has co-writing credits on almost every track on her albums, even self-penning a couple of her album cuts. She's gone a bit indie-pop since releasing Wanderlust in 2014 but her upcoming Orchestral Greatest Hits assures fans that no only is Sophie still closely in touch with her stunning body of work, she remains as tasteful and graceful as ever.

Regarding her music, it's always a question of this-and-thats but Sophie is one hell of a sympathetic lady, trying to be - HERSELF. Well, there are plenty of blueprints in her music and style; most notably that of a certain Roisin Murphy. But to say Sophie is plagiarising would be unfair indeed. I never liked 'Groovejet' for it is just a tiresome club(less) anthem made in itself and not even Sophie would have saved it more than she tried singing dull lyrics of love. But her debut-affair and then again - two later albums - 'Shoot from the Hip' and 'Trip the Light Fantastic' (is this a hidden reference to 'Walking In the Rain? Anyone?), prove she tries hard to stay on musical and aesthetic level - and eventually wins. Somewhere between Client, Goldfrapp, St.
